Rock Painting Party

Teens ages 13 and up and adults are invited to Reed Memorial Library on Saturday, July 29 at 2:00 p.m. for a special rock painting party.

Participants will try their hands at painting rocks that may be used to participate in the popular painted rock scavenger hunt. All supplies will be provided.

Registration is required.

Bobcats of Ohio

Join Jamie from the Ohio Wildlife Division on Wednesday, July 26 at 6:30 p.m. to learn all about bobcats in Ohio.

During this family program, participants will learn fascinating facts about bobcats, their hunting styles, and their homes.

Registration is required for this event.

Build a Better Cupcake

Families are invited to an afternoon of decorating fun on Saturday, July 22 at 2:00 p.m.

Participants will receive an unfrosted cupcake for them to decorate using their creativity and provided supplies. Afterward, participants may eat their creation.

Registration is required for this event.

During registration, participants may select their preference for a vanilla, chocolate, or gluten-free cupcake.

Build a Better Galactic Empire

Join us for an afternoon of battle, strategy, and conquest when we play Twilight Imperium on Saturday, July 22 from 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Twilight Imperium is an empire-building game that requires players to trade, battle, and struggle for power while strategizing their moves.

Lunch and snacks will be provided.

Registration is required.

StarLab Portable Planetarium

Experience the StarLab Portable Planetarium and learn about the night sky on Saturday, July 15 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Families will learn fun and interesting facts about our sky and constellations. Presentations will run every 30 minutes, and additional crafts and activities will be available while you wait. No registration is required.

Drip E. Faucet Magic Show

Stop by Reed Memorial Library on Tuesday, July 11 at 6:30 p.m. for the Drip E. Faucet Magic Show.

This fun-filled entertainment program will feature Drip E. Faucet, who is a magician, juggler, and plumber!

This event is open to all ages. No registration required.

 

Build a Better Fantasy World

Join us for a special roleplaying and fantasy design workshop on Saturday, July 8 at 2:00 p.m.

This hands-on workshop will include creative activities about fantasy worldbuilding from the ground up. This program is open to anyone interested in fantasy writing, gaming, or curiosity.

No registration required.

 

Summer Reading 2017

June 3 through July 28

Children Ages infant through grade 5 register at the children's desk and pick up a reading record to earn prizes.
Special science and engineering programs will be offered.

Teens and Adults Receive tickets at the circulation desk for books, e-books, audiobooks, magazines, or graphic novels. Fill out and return your tickets, which are entered into weekly and grand prize drawings. Additional tickets are earned by attending library programs throughout the summer. Prizes include sports tickets, museum and zoo passes, gift cards, t-shirts, and more. There are separate prizes and drawings for adults and teens.
