How-To Festival

Reed Memorial Library’s first How-To Festival on Saturday, September 29 from 10:00-2:15 pm
Simultaneous 30-minute workshops will be held around the library that will introduce a topic or explain “how-to” do something. Workshop categories include health and wellness, hobbies and lifestyle, technology, children’s activities, and much more.
Learn a new hobby, skill, or just have fun!

Movie Night: Frankenstein

Enjoy a free screening of the 1931 movie adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein on Thursday, September 27 at 6:30 pm.

Featuring Boris Karloff’s portrayal of the most tragic and memorable monster, this is a must-see for anyone who enjoys critically acclaimed classic films.
No registration is required.

Community Read: Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

Reed Memorial Library is inviting everyone in the community to read Frankenstein by Mary Shelley during the months of September and October.

In partnership with Hiram College, Kent Free Library, and Portage County District Library, the community read is a celebration of the 200th birthday of this classic horror novel.
Reed Memorial Library has planned activities, movie screenings, book discussions, and academic speakers lined up to celebrate this event.
Copies of the book will be available to borrow at the library, and free ebooks are available to enjoy on your device through the Ohio Digital Library.

 

Summer Challenge Lock-In

Celebrate the end of Summer Reading at the Reed Memorial Library afterhours lock-in party that will be held on Friday, August 3 from 6:00-8:00 pm
Enjoy an escape room, scavenger hunts, and pizza. This program is by invitation only to those who completed set milestones in the summer reading challenge. (For teens, this is everyone who turned in 8 or more tickets.)

Bremen Town Musicians

Tuesday, July 24
6:30 p.m.

Lindsay Bonilla  will incorporate music and audience participation as they embody the characters in the story. Enjoy this classic tale like you’ve never heard it before! No registration is required for this all-ages event.
