Local authors and writers are invited to celebrate National Novel Writing Month (aka NaNoWriMo) during the month of November. Every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., the Carlin room will be available for writers to come in and use. Additional resources for writers will also be available to use.


7th Annual Create a Turkey Contest

November 1-17
This contest is a chance to have fun, create something unique, and possibly win a prize! All ages are welcome, and family efforts are encouraged. Past turkeys have been made of paper, plastic, gourds, or even papier-mache. Some have even included electronic wiring. Turkeys submitted by November 17 will be displayed in the library. When submitting turkeys, please include a card with your name (or names) and phone number.


Tech Time

Wednesday, Nov. 1

Participants will enjoy creating unique projects. Learn special-effects photography using green screens and other photography tools.
Registration is required. Grades 3-8.

Internet Search Techniques

Thursday, Nov. 2
2-3 p.m.

In this class, participants will learn about different search engines and practice various search techniques that will help them find better information more easily online. Basic mouse and keyboard skills are required for this class. Registration required.

Email Basics

Friday, Nov. 3

This class will cover email basics, including attaching and sending files. Basic mouse and keyboard skills are required for this class. Registration required.


Settlers of Catan Tournament

Saturday, November 4
9:30am - 4:30pm

Celebrate International Games Day with open gaming and a Settlers of Catan tournament. Bring friends and join us for table top, role playing, and card games. Feel free to bring your own favorite games to share or play with others. Registration is required for the tournament.
