Find Elf on the Shelf

December 1-23
Children in preschool through grade 5 are invited to participate in our “Find Elf on the Shelf” contest. Participants may pick up an entry slip at the Children’s Desk and look for our Elf that is hiding on a shelf somewhere in the Children’s Department. If you find him, you earn a prize!

Puzzle Exchange

Second Saturday every month
9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Puzzle enthusiasts can swap, switch and trade puzzles and some board games. No registration is required for this free program, and participants may come and go throughout the length of the exchange. *Starting this month, the Puzzle Exchange will meet downstairs in the Jenkins Room.

 

Gaming Club

On the second and fourth Monday of every month
6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Join us for board games, role playing games, and collectible card games.Teens and adults are welcome, and families with younger children should feel free to participate as well. No registration is required.

 

Make & Explore!

Second Tuesday of the Month
6:30-7:30pm

Expand your imagination and knowledge with stories, crafts, and activities. Each session will have a set theme.
Registration required. Grades K-2.

 

DIY Bath Bombs and Sugar Scrubs

Adults are invited to Reed Memorial Library on Tuesday, December 12 at 6:30 p.m. for a class on how to make your own bath bombs and sugar scrubs.
Participants will create their own sample products that may be used for holiday gifts, or to pamper themselves during the winter months.
Registration is required and space is limited.

 

Evening Book Discussion

Adults are invited to Reed Memorial Library on Wednesday, December 13 at 7:00 p.m. for an informal discussion of the book The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion.
This heartwarming story follows the unlikely pair of a geneticist and a barmaid, who learns that despite your best efforts, you do not find love, it finds you.

Computer Basics

Thursday, Dec. 14
2:00-3:00 p.m
This will be an opportunity for people completely unfamiliar with computers to get some basic hands-on training and begin to feel more comfortable with the technology.
Registration is required and space is limited.

Internet for Beginners

Friday, Dec. 15
2:00-3:00 p.m.

Through hands-on activities, participants will learn how to use Internet links, common elements of web pages, and print from the Internet using print preview. Registration is required and space is limited.
