How Do I Get a free Library Card?

  • All Ohio residents are eligible to get a Library card.
  • You're never too young or too old to become a library cardholder!
  • For a Youth card, anyone under 18 years old must have an accompanying adult sign the card application, taking responsibility for the account. The adult must have a valid photo ID and proof of current address (if different from ID).
  • If you are under 18 and don't have an adult signer, you can get a special, 3 For Me library card. This card is limited to 3 physical material checkouts at a time and can also be used for digital borrows. See all the details about the 3 For Me card.
  • Anyone age 18 years old or older must have a valid photo ID and proof of current address (if different from ID) to apply for a library card.
